New Community Facilities Proposed for the Former Land Rover Site in Monkton Heathfield.
It is our pleasure to confirm that we are proposing new community facilities at the former Land Rover Site at Bridgwater Road, Monkton Heathfield. The aim of this website is to provide interested parties with information about exactly what is proposed for this important site.
Consulting with local people is an important part of the planning application process. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing social distancing restrictions associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, it has not been possible to arrange a face to face event in Monkton Heathfield for local residents to attend and gather information. We have therefore prepared this website to describe and explain what is proposed.
Interested parties are invited to ask questions and provide feedback on the proposals. Details on how to do so are provided on the ‘Contact’ tab.
The site was formally used by Land Rover as a car showroom and MOT servicing facility. That business has since relocated to new premises elsewhere in Taunton, which has left the site vacant for several years.
A solution is therefore needed to provide the site with a new lease of life to benefit the local economy and the surrounding community.
We are preparing a full planning application to provide a mix of community facilities at the former Land Rover site on Bridgwater Road, Monkton Heathfield.
The scheme includes a children’s nursery, a pharmacy and a ‘walk in’ convenience store to serve the Monkton Heathfield community.
This new mix of community facilities would also generate employment opportunities for local people.
If you have any questions or would like to provide feedback then please do so here. We will endeavour to respond to your question as soon as possible.
